Murray Fisher, Platts Global Metals Awards organizer, said: “While the metals and mining outlook is getting brighter, its participants have had to weather a tumultuous storm. This year’s finalists reflect a more efficient, innovative and globalized industry that continues to rise to the challenge. We congratulate each of the individual and corporate finalists of the Platts Global Metals Awards for their respective and collective achievements.”
“The increased interest in several specific categories such as Deal of the Year, Service Provider of the Year and this year’s inaugural Industry Leadership Award for Precious Metals, all point to an interesting and possibly surprising awards ceremony ahead,” said Fisher.
Winners, to be selected by the program’s independent panel of judges, will come from the list of finalists in each individual awards category. But the 2017 Metals Company of the Year will be chosen from the entire list of finalists.
The 2017 Platts Global Metals Awards winners will be unveiled at a black-tie dinner on May 18 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London. For the fourth consecutive year, the Awards will be emceed by CNBC’s Karen Tso, well-known to Australian, Singaporean and European television audiences for her long coverage of the metals and mining sectors.
