MTLEXS invited to present paper at the ICDC Seminar “Market Opportunities for Brass – Rolled, Extruded & Drawn Products”
Mtlexs has been invited to make a presentation at ICDC Seminar on “Market Opportunities for Brass-Rolled, Extruded & Drawn Products” in Mumbai, India on March 12, 2015. The seminar will provide a forum to the actual end users and manufacturers of brass components to assess the present status and future prospects of brass components in different end use sectors. Mtlexs will present a paper focussing on growth in India vs. China, non-ferrous metal industry in India and opportunities for the industry under Make in India campaign, among other topics.
Mtlexs CEO Suneel Mardia made a presentation at Seminar on “Market Opportunities for BRASS – Rolled, Extruded & Drawn Products” organized by ICDC in Mumbai on March 12, 2015.
Mr. Mardia spoke in detail about the government initiatives and MSME and EEPC Schemes. Further me mentioned that there are fears of FTA (Foreign Trade Agreements) which have resulted into inverse duty structure (where finished goods of copper, brass and being imported at nil duty wider FTA and the raw material 5-7.5% Import duty).
He also assured the various associations like BME (Mr. Rikhab Mehta); INFMMA (Mr. D. K. Jain) that Mtlexs is with them and would also raise voice through its newsletter and bulletins as well as SMS/Whatsapp Messaging Services to more tham 24000 members.
At the same time, he also urged to members/suppliers to look for the other means of increasing margins like source cheap finance; think out of the box; look for different product mix or diversity into more value added products.
During the seminar, several big consumers of non-ferrous metals announced their yearly requirements of copper and brass products. BHEL (Bhopal) has annual requirements of about 800 tons and Godrej and Boyce (Only the Lock division) needs about 3600 tons of brass. Larson and Toubro has also mentioned huge requirements of copper and copper alloy products.
