Sharif Metals Stresses Upon Recycling in Non-Ferrous Metal Industry

Addressing the gathering in the inaugural session of the World Non-Ferrous Conference 2016, Engr. Salam Sharif, BIR Chairman of Amb.Comm, BMR and President & Chairman of Sharif Metals International stated, “Its is an honour to represent the recycling industry, which is not an ordinary business. First half of last century recycling industry was undermined. Today, the industry is sophisticated. Recycling industry is contributing directly to the fastest growing economy in the world which is India.
 

He further stated that the regulations in India should smooth out day to day issues in the business industry. He appealed to the government that instead of having 5 per cent duty on scrap metals, they should abolish and put it on finished products.
 

Also present during the session were Engr. Salam Sharif, BIR Chairman of Amb. Comm, BMR and President & Chairman of Sharif Metals International, Mr. Justin Roux – Senior Vice President – Luvata Group, Mr. DevangRawal, Executive Vice President & Head – Corporate Finance at Aditya Birla Finance Ltd , Mr. SuneelMardia, CEO – Mtlexs and Mrs. Saloni V. Kothari, COO – Mtlexs.
 

Speaking at the event at the other sessions, Mr. Monir Al Sharif from the company gave his comments on Mtlexsspot, an online platform for trading in the non-ferrous metal industry, launched by Mtlexs in collaboration with NeML.
 

He stated, “It is not a regular business to have an online trade platform in this industry. I will be honored to start offering my material on MTLEXSSPOT. It is a new concept and it is a world of technology now a days. I am hoping a good number of volumes for the Mtlexsspot”.
 

Over the two days of the conference, the officials from Sharif Metals spoke about the recycling industry, its growing applicability and also the environmental concerns of the metal industry, which makes the recycling industry even more viable in today’s scenario.
 

They expressed their bullishness on growth of the sector and urged the Indian government to have favorable policies for the recycling industry.
